LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Leader Letter

July 2010

As part of the Leadership Notebook summer reflections suggested last month, we continue that same idea for July. Summer, as always, fades too quickly away to fall and refocused demands of the second half of the year. Using time during the summer to rebalance personally and to refocus on needed organizational initiatives is a wise use of specific contemplation time to make the transition more effective. There is a shift, however; July is less relaxed….it is time to ponder mid-year leadership initiatives after vacation recharging. To assist you in this effort, the free Leadership Guide Magazine provides three informative articles for your consideration.

“Our Core Values are the very beliefs that form the culture of our organization, that make us who we are, that form the basis for all of our decisions,” says Charles Harrington, CEO of Parsons. Each of our Core Values has a goal, and for integrity our goal is ZERO deviations from our Corporate Ethics Policy. We have performance metrics that we have developed to track composite leading and lagging indicators of our performance against this goal and to report to management, and to our Board of Directors, on our progress on a quarterly basis.”
