This month’s edition (April) of Leadership Guide Magazine presents three interesting articles that should not only make you think, but also provide you with at least a “hand-full” of ideas on how to be a better leader. We start with a follow-up interview with last month’s featured leader, Jerome Alexander. Mr. Alexander is a self-proclaimed “corporate cynic,” that offers valuable insights for everyone interested in avoiding the pitfalls of doing the “wrong things” wrong in leading others. In his interview with our editor Linda Hatcher, he points out that if more executives took themselves a little less seriously, showed more humanity, and acted less selfishly; that lower level employees would, indeed, be inspired to do great things.
In the second article, we feature a review of Robin Sharma’s two new books The Greatness Guide and The Greatness Guide Book 2. Sharma is a top success coach and ethical leadership writer and speaker.
The third article is a reprint from a chapter in Secrets of Effective Leadership – a Practical Guide to Success by Fred A. Manske Jr. who was the CEO of Purolator Courier and Senior Vice President - Ground Operations and Sales for Federal Express. The article is entitled: “Win by having a Strong Sense of Urgency.”
